Pizzeria Rossa, Hauz Khas Village

And we are back at Hauz Khas Village (HKV). It’s really tough to stay away from this place if you like to go to ‘different’ places. So this time we also convinced family to take a really bold step. Try eating-out beyond the Chinese cuisine! To test the waters, we picked Pizzeria Rossa, a little Italian join at HKV. This was better than your regular Italian fare, but not earth-shattering either. Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Why we might go again?
We loved their baked mushrooms with ricotta cheese, really well done and flavourful  Also, their pizzas are nice and crisp, not the super-thin Italian pizzas, but scrumptious nonetheless. The raviolis were nicely made as well – soft to melt in your mouth. The calamari, one of our most favourite dishes, was perfectly crisp (although we wish the fish were healthier!)

Why we might not go again?
Now this is the part where we might come across being too critical. There was nothing fundamentally wrong about the place, but in the world of endless comparisons, they will fall behind the Italian fare at places like La Tagliatella, or the nearby Amour. Their breads were a bit under-baked, and the Caesar salad should not have been called that. It did not have parmesan cheese! Hello?

Final word
Definitely try this place if you are in vicinity. Its little US-east coast style ambience does lend well to a good experience over food and wine.
