Nando's, Vasant Kunj

India has always had a great tradition of eating chicken. While in a host of other countries, chicken is eaten lesser or at best as much as other meats like beef, pork, or lamb, Indians predominantly eat chicken. Hence, it is no wonder that Nando's - a grilled chicken haven sees long queues outside it, almost everyday. We visited with the entire family of chicken lovers to see what the fuss was about, and had one superb time. Overall rating: 4/5
Why we might go again?
We reached for a relatively early dinner (8PM) and found a perfect round table without having to wait in the queues. What followed was complete bliss. We started with their classic grilled chicken served with a spectrum of peri peri sauces with varying spices, and pita bread with hummus(again spiked with the peri peri sauce). Even the main course skewered chicken and the paneer and rice entrĂ©e were delectable.

This is no gourmet cooking but they succeed by keeping things fairly simple - its perfectly grilled chicken served with a variety of spicy sauces with that unique smoky flavour.

Why we might not go again?
If anything, it would be their capacity and the related reduction in service levels. We went at the right time and luckily had a decent experience, but we saw how building queues can have an impact on them to serve faster.

Final word
Go here for a casual and quick dining experience at relatively reasonable prices. They are not as low as some fast food chains, but not as high as at some of the other restaurants in Delhi NCR. A meal for two should be around Rs. 800
