Red Wine Sangria

This is a blog for celebrating our 100th post !!

It took us about three years to reach here but we have been active primarily in the last 12 months. The blog is still in its early stages but we are encouraged by the nice words we hear in post comments, on social networks, and even offline. We have passed 50k page views on the blog and the viewer-ship is increasing. We want to take a moment and say to our readers - Thank You !

But we have often asked ourselves - what is all this effort for? Well, we have realized that, apart from this being a hobby that both of us do together, it really is a database of recipes that we love to the core, adjusted for our own palette. It is something we always refer to as we cook. However, sharing with others and receiving positive feedback is critical to keep us motivated and prompts us to strive for more innovative dishes.

Another thing that this blog celebrates is our new camera - a first DSLR! We are loving it so far and the pics are coming much nicer (we think!)

So how do we celebrate? Of course, by raising a toast with one of our most favourite cocktails, Sangria, and soaking in the lovely winter sun in Delhi! Cheers to more diverse recipes and mouthwatering photos.

Ingredients

1 bottle of cheap red wine. Shiraz or Merlot might work better
1/2 cup brandy / cognac
1 apple, chopped
1 large orange, sliced
1 cup orange juice
1-2 tbsp powdered sugar or sugar dissolved in a bit of water
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method

There is no rocket science here. Simply mix all the ingredients together and refrigerate for 24 hours or overnight. Serve in a tall glass with ice (if needed).
